Do you remember geology in school? Probably not. You probably learned something about it mixed in with your science class, deep in a book, for one week, when you probably weren’t paying attention. How did our fulltime RV’ing unschooled kids learn about geology? We went 75 stories underground to Experience it firsthand!
As another stop along our Southwest Winter Road Trip, we explore Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We have enjoyed every National Park we have visited, but this one was a bit different. It was a truly full immersion experience, that you can only get by experiencing it yourself!
As you will see in our video, we chose to hike down the Natural Entrance Trail and then do the Big Room Trail. I would recommend this for anyone capable of making the hike. But beware, it is a steep and long hike. It was pretty busy while we were there, so it wasn’t a fast hike, and there are handrails, so you never get the feeling of having a cliff next to you. But it’s a lot of downhill walking – but well worth it!
